for everyone

"Each of us have our own unique & quirky differences."

Dear friends, its been a long while since I wrote. A couple of things I would like to say first:

1. Wishing all of you a Happy Rat Year!
2. May your 2008 be filled with abundance, love, warmth, joy!

2007 has been a wonderful and fruitful year. I have travelled many places, meet many new friends, attended plenty of psychology related courses, and conducted personality development classes for several batches of ladies.

Over the period of 1 year, I have grown tremendously. I learnt to apply psychological techniques in my daily life, as well as to help those in need. One unforgettable experience was when I volunteered in a Depression group in Taipei, Taiwan. Here, I facilitated a group therapy session using the psychological empowerment techniques I've learnt. After a couple of sessions with this group of people, they became more open and were more willing to interact with others. Definitely an improvement of social interaction & confidence in their homes and at their workplace. I am really happy to have made a difference in their lives -- though my stay was pretty short in Taiwan...Half a year!

Be it Taiwan, Australia or China, I have met many friends who were willing to share their knowledge, their love, their passion and their lives with me. Truely being a girl who loves to travel and experience other cultures, the homestay at various cities & countries opened my eyes, my heart and the world that I see. I am appreciative of such opportunities and warm welcome by my friends and all I want to say is... THANK YOU!!!

In October 2007, one of the classes I coached is a batch of lovely ladies from Miss Singapore Asean Beauty Pageant 2007. I was their grooming and deportment teacher in this beauty pageant. Here, not only the basic skills of a pageantry walk, self-presentation was taught. In fact, I incorporated some psychological empowerment techniques, and showed them that they are capable of being a Queen -- not only on stage, and also in life. Of course, each lady has their own level of understanding, and time was really not on our side. At the end, some who were quiet and reserved shone on the night, while some of the so-called favourites did not. I guess all besides this phrase "Success is when preparation meets opportunity", we all in some way require a stroke of luck. At the end of the day, with this tight scheduled deportment and grooming class, I have built great rapport with the ladies and still keep in touch with them -- very much till today. I wish them all the best in their future paths ahead!

"To develop our beauty from within, begins with a step of accepting our own unique & quirky differences."
-Genecia Luo

Looking ahead, in this Rat year I have established InQueenz. This is the next step in my life, where passion meets opportunity. Yes, thats right, my passion.

Over the last 9 years, I have been in the coaching and training industry. Despite doing different things at different phases in my life, occupational therapist, instructor in yoga, aerobics, line-dancing & deep water workout, a beauty queen, etc... I still feel very strongly to impact lives. Therefore, I have put together a series of programs, courses and even workshops for ladies, to unleash "the inner queen."  My vision is:

"To be the guiding light and empowering arm for all women to unleash their unlimited potential and blossom into confident, charismatic, skilled, and well-balanced Queens on stage and leaders in life, leaving behind inspiring footprints and an enduring legacy."

One of the focus at  InQueenz, is to groom Beauty Queens and Winners in Competition/contests. Having been through domestic, national and international competitions over the last 5 years, I know what the pageant industry is lacking -- Training. Yes, as simple as the word may seem. But it is a tremendous amount of work and responsibility.

Be it deportment, grooming, speech or even self-presentation, you may have what it takes to be on stage, but you may not have or developed the inner beauty that adds that shine for you to have that edge over your competitors. In fact, like I always say.... the competition and judging begins the moment you step in!

So at InQueenz, we offer quality trainings such as Audition coaching, Pageantry coaching, Skill based pageantry coaching, MBS Pageantry coaching, and many more... so logon to www.InQueenz.com for more details.

And  for those of you who wants to compete in any local competition/contest/pageant this year, do drop me a message here, or email me at enquiry@InQueenz.com

And if you know of friends who wants to shine on stage and in life, do refer them to me too!

Ok, for those who have not read about InQueenz, please proceed to buy a copy of the March issue of Newman Magazine -- See the covergirl as well as read the interview within!

What I know for sure, is that you will see, read and experience more of InQueenz in this 2008!

Hey,

I've postponed it to Monday due to location problem. Thanks for asking though :)

Yup. Agreed. It points down to the question as to whether is one 'cash-driven' or 'passion-driven'. But that said, both requires sure hard work. :)

How are your preparations for your April event coming along?

Location problem? What happened?

Coursework preparations are coming along fine. Will keep you updated! =) Well, would you like to attend the Emcee Training Programme? ha!

No doubt majority of the businesses are profit-driven, I believe that we should have a good mix with passion. This means giving my students quality content and services as well as looking beyond. Which means to say, taking a personal interest in the student's personal development. It's hard sometimes, as some students are "not ready" or "difficult" ... although I do help them as much as I can, it really depends whether he/she is willing to help themselves, by having the courage to take the next step----in life. So one of the solution is a Queenz Profiling System which serves to assess and monitor each participant's progress... =)

This truely reminds me of the "Starfish" story. Have you heard about it? =)

It's a small one. Not a huge problem as they could only allocate a certain time for us to shoot and go. But well, at least we do managed to get the place and they too have been accommodative to us. So, no problem, just shoot. :) heh

Yes. Do keep me in the loops! Emcee Training Programme? Maybe one day i should present in front of you so that you could grade me? I'm teasing. =D

No. I have not heard of the Starfish story. But since after you have mentioned it, i when to do a check-up. Indeed, it is an inspiring story. What was your initial anecdote behind this tale?

Hi gene, i think i was unclear about the term i explained on both 'cash driven' and 'passion driven'.

- cash-driven here means some of us are comfortable of where we are. And what we are doing. It may not be our dream job but i am receiving a reasonable pay-check to feed my family.

-passion-driven here means people who forgo a better paying job to realising his/her passion. Doings things the individual like to do and is content even though he/she income is sustainable but not at a comfortable status.

yup. this was what i meant. And both work equally hard together in their respective fields of work.
